Michael H. Gallagher M.S.P.T.S.C.S. is one of 2,411 board-certified clinical specialists in the United States, and one of 114 in New York State. He has been a board-certified since 1993, and in 2015 was re-certified as a clinical specialist in sports physical therapy. Michael Gallagher graduated cum laude from Long Island University in 1986 with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. That year he was chosen as the award winner for Clinical Excellence in his graduating class.

Michael has 34 years of experience in the treatment of orthopedic and neurological conditions as well as sports related pathology; treating high school, collegiate, and professional athletes. He has been an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at Long Island University and Nassau Community College. He is also presently a Clinical Professor of Physical Therapy at the College of Staten Island, Springfield College, Long Island University, Nassau Community College, LaSalle College, Stony Brook University, New York University, New York Medical College, NYIT, and Touro College.

He has been a member of the SACE (Specialization Academy of Content Experts) which is responsible for creating the Board Certification examination in Sports Physical Therapy.

Michael established Nassau Sports Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation of Mineola in 1988 where he continues to provide customized, hands-on care for each individual patient. In 2001, he opened Nassau Sports Physical Therapy of Huntington to bring the same quality of care to patients in Western Suffolk County. Michael continues to see patients at both locations, offering personalized, individual care to each patient seen in his facilities.
